Terms and Conditions

Booking

Your booking and contract is with the Girls Adventure Alliance Ltd. By booking an activity with us you are agreeing with these Terms and Conditions.

The Girls Adventure Alliance only provides activities for adults. You must be over 18 years of age to make a booking or attend any activity.

Safety

Hiking is an adventurous activity with a risk of personal discomfort, accident, injury or death. By taking part in the activities offered by the Girls Adventure Alliance, you are aware of and accepting of these risks. Participants are responsible for their own actions, safety and wellbeing and the Girls Adventure Alliance accepts no responsibility for personal accidents or injury unless caused by their negligence. Participants are responsible for any actions putting any other person or property at risk.

All participants must take heed of any safety information or warnings given by the Group Leader prior to or during the activity.

It is recommended that appropriate insurance (such as that offered by the BMC) is undertaken for any activities.

The Girls Adventure Alliance does not accept responsibility for any accidents, injuries or incidents that may occur while using any online resources.

Dogs are welcome on day hikes if they are well behaved, good natured and socialised with previous experience of walks of similar length and terrain. Registered assistance dogs are always welcome unless dogs aren’t permitted on the chosen route. The Girls Adventure Alliance accepts no responsibility for the actions, behaviours, health or safety of any dogs, and the dog is solely your responsibility and liability. Any dogs must be kept under close control at all times. The health and safety of other participants will always be the priority, and as such the Group Leader has the discretion to give last-minute refusal to any dog.

Rules of Participation

Participants are required to adhere to the following rules when taking part in an activity or communicating with other participants:

  • Ensure that they are physically able to complete the planned activity. If a participant is unsure, they should contact the Girls Adventure Alliance prior to the activity commencing.

  • Ensure they have appropriate clothing, footwear, water and food for the planned activity.

  • Listen to the Group Leader and adhere to any safety instructions.

  • Behave and use language in a way that does not put at risk or cause offence to other group members.

  • Not partake in smoking, alcohol or drug use during the activity.

The Group Leader reserves the right to refuse to accept a participant on an activity, or to terminate the activity for a participant (‘non-participation’) if they refuse to comply to the conditions outlined above. The decision to refuse to accept a participant or terminate the activity for a participant lies solely with the Group Leader. No refunds are offered for non-participation.

If a participant chooses to leave the group at any time and makes it clear they are departing, then the Group Leader ceases to have any responsibility or liability for that participant with immediate effect.

Medical

All activities are led by qualified Hill and Moorland and/or Mountain Leader(s) and Outdoor First Aider(s).

By booking an activity, participants are consenting to the administration of any First Aid measures that may be deemed necessary by the Group Leader or any other person present with current First Aid training.

Participants are required to ensure that they are medically fit for the activity that they have booked. Participants should inform the Group Leader of any relevant medical conditions that may affect the health and safety of the participant or any others taking part in the activity.

Payments and Cancellation

Payments for activities are non-refundable. Payments need to be made in full by the advertised deadline, or your booking will be cancelled and any received monies will not be refunded.

Cancellation is not possible for activities. If you cannot make a booked activity, you are required to inform the Girls’ Adventure Alliance at the earliest opportunity. A refund may be possible if the booked space can be allocated to another participant. However, this is at the discretion of the Girls Adventure Alliance and may not always be possible.

The Girls Adventure Alliance reserves the right to cancel any event due to force majeure, unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances, or unforeseen events outside our control. If events are cancelled or postponed due to such circumstances, participants will be offered an alternative date or a refund.

The Girls Adventure Alliance is not responsible for any incidental expenses that may have been accrued as a result of booking on an activity, such as transport or accommodation.

The Girls Adventure Alliance may be required to alter routes or activities due to weather and/or safety reasons. Such changes are at the discretion of the Group Leader and no refunds will be offered.

Privacy

When attending any activities, you agree that photography and videography may be captured for use on relevant social media channels, websites and/or marketing materials.

If you would like to opt out, please email hello@girlsadventurealliance.com.

The Girls Adventure Alliance will store relevant personal data when it is submitted to us for activities, memberships or marketing purposes. It will not be shared with anyone else and you have the right to access, update or remove any information we hold about you.
